James Lakin, Ph.D., MD, has more than 30 years of experience caring for people with allergy and asthma conditions. Dr. Lakin earned his medical degree and Ph.D. in immunology from Northwestern University, Chicago. He served his residency in internal medicine and subspecialty training in allergy and immunology at the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor. He is board-certified in allergy and immunology and in internal medicine, and takes special medical interest in allergy-related asthma, hayfever and sinus problems. "Treatment of allergies or asthma must focus not only on the affected organs, but the affected person as a whole her or his general physical and emotional status, relationships, home and work environments," Dr. Lakin says.
